This year we didn't have any big plans and we didn't host a meal at our house.
Although, I love hosting!
A
few days before Easter, we dyed some eggs with Hadleigh while Hayden intently
watched over. Hadleigh was really
interested and excited to color the eggs, but her attention didn't last too
long. Daddy ended up dying the rest of
the Easter eggs, but she was a great helper.
Mommy stood off to the side taking pictures (surprise). They came out
beautiful – Hadleigh was very proud.
I didn't attempt to take the girls to see the Easter Bunny this year. Well, let’s be honest, I didn't last
year or the year before. So I’m going with the tradition of never
taking them. Ha. Daniel and I didn't grow up going to see the Eater Bunny, and
Hadleigh is still freaked out by him, so it’s not worth it. Hadleigh saw the Easter Bunny across the food
court at the mall last week and started saying “No mommy! No!”. On Friday her school had an Easter Egg Hunt
for the kids and she told her teacher she was scared because she thought for
sure the Easter Bunny was going to be there.
She calmed down after they assured her he wasn't making an
appearance. Then on Easter morning I
asked her if she wanted to go downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny brought
her and she quickly replied “no, mama!”.
I had to carry her downstairs to again, reassure her the Bunny wasn't there. Once she saw her basket she was
very excited!
We went to lunch at Zorba's (yum!) with Nene, Baba, and Steve after we saw what the Easter Bunny left at their house for the girls. He even left some eggs for Hadleigh to find around their house. Both girls got fun stuff and even got a gift from Grandma and Hop.
After
lunch, we headed home and the girls napped for a bit while I caught up on some
things around the house. They played for
a bit before we packed up and headed to Gran & Gramps. We ate a delicious dinner and the girls had
so much fun playing with Erik & Jaxson.
They both were exhausted by the time we left to come home later that
evening.
I tried to snap a couple of pictures of the girls in their matching Easter dresses, but it’s almost impossible for them to both look at the camera and sit still. I.Could.Die. they are so cute!
Although
we didn't have big plans, we spent Easter the way it should be spent. With our loving families uu
