Throwback Thursday! What What!

So, I’ve never participated in the Throwback Thursday – but my dad brought some little gems from the past, so I figured it was a good time.

Really?! Do you guys remember putting your fingers in the holes and turning to get the film strip things back in its place?  Or continuously “stop, rewind, play” so you could hear your favorite part of the song over and over…and over? Takes me back!

And can we talk about the crazy taste in music that I had?
Just a few of the tapes I found:
Billy Ray Cyrus – Achy Breaky Heart
Disney Soundtracks – Beauty & the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King (I can still totally break out every word on these songs too!)
Dirty Dancing Soundtrack (white cassette tape pictured above)
Wilson Phillips – who doesn't love “Hold On”?!
Jock Jams – holllerrrrr!
CD pictured is Wyclef Jean

Did you have a cassette collection? Do you still have it?

What’s the funniest/craziest one you owned?

  1. Ahhh my parents totally still have my cassettes....Alanis Morrissette, Spice Girls, Amy Grant.... and of course all the ones I recorded off Q94 LOL! I'd sit there for hours waiting for a song to come on, and then I'd pray that I hit record in time to get the beginning, and I'd get so mad when the DJ would start talking before the song was completely over hahaha.

  3. Hi Erin! I just stumbled upon your blog (and am a new follower!) I had to laugh at your throwback Thursday post - I think I had all those same tapes! It's a shame our kids won't know the fun of cassettes!

    1. I know! Who knows what will be in then! They'll see the cassettes and think we are so old :)

  4. I do! But I don't miss the tapes all strewn about the country - people held them out of the car windows to see how far the tape would go I think.
