Fall Family Days

Fall seems to have the BEST days to do fun things with the family.  One of the biggest reasons this is my favorite time of year!

A couple weeks ago, my moms side of the family all got together at a park in Ashland to celebrate my grandmothers soon-to-be 80th birthday.  It was nice for us to see eachother and get the kids together to run off some energy.  My cousin's wife Nikki , who is an awesome photographer, snapped some pictures of all of us.  I don't have any of those pictures, but I snapped a few myself.  I loved my camera when we first bought it 2 years ago, but now I sooo want a new one.  I need one where I can manually focus myself and be able to have different lenses on it.  Haven't done any research on what exactly I want yet, so we will see.  Gotta save up for that expense first! Nikki, I'll be hitting up your expertise when I go shopping :)

We also decided to go to the Graves Mountain Harvest Festival.  I had only been once before, but I wanted to go and start the tradition with the family.  Kelli, Chey, and the boys followed us up there and then we met up with Chey's sister Jessica and niece Audrinna.  The kids had a lot of fun and Hadleigh did really well with the crowds!
We stopped off at a vendor so we could let the kids make some sand art.  Hadleigh and Erik didn't want to put theirs down all day!

We walked through the rest of the vendors and decided it was time to eat.

Then we went and saw some animals, played in the hay stacks, and picked our own apples.  It was a beautiful day and I can't wait to go back next year and continue with the starting tradition!

State Fair of Virginia

We decided to go to the State Fair again this year since Hadleigh had such a good time last year.  Make it a family tradition....

Welp, Hadleigh didn't enjoy the fair as she did last year.  She whined a lot and wouldn't ride any of the rides.   She kept pointing to them but then when we would get closer, she wanted nothing to do with them.  We did get her to play one game where she picks the rubber duckies out of the little pool to win a prize.  She played that 2 or 3 times.  Other than that, we just walked around, ate some food, people watched, and walked through some of the vendors in the pavilion to get some cool air on us.

I did manage to take a few pictures :)

Happy 2 Months Hayden!

Ahh! I can't believe 2 months has passed (well now almost 3 months since I'm a little late)!!  We love our little Hayden so much!  She's such a good baby, we've been very lucky to have 2 kids be so easy as newborns. I think we make up for it when they hit toddler stage ;-)

Hayden smiles ALL the time.  She wakes up smiling and smiles pretty much every time someone talks to her.  I feel like she is very close to getting a giggle out, but I haven't been able to yet.
She's talking and cooing a lot these days as well.  Hayden likes attention for sure.  When she knows you're close and not giving her attention, she will whine a little to get your attention.
She really only cries when she's super tired and she wants to be soothed by being held, OR if she's really hungry and I'm not giving her the boob quick enough.

Hadleigh loves on Hayden all the time and I'm so glad she loves her baby sister.  Hayden has giving Hadleigh some smiles, but a lot of times Hadleigh is all in her face which Hayden doesn't love.

Hayden is doing really well with holding her head up, which is a hard task cause this girl has a big head :)  She gets all that from her daddy! We've sat her in the bumbo several times, and she's doing really well in that.

Field Day of the Past

Dad had the boys for the day, so we both decided to take all 4 kids to Field Day of the Past.  It's a yearly tradition out in Rockville.  This was actually the first year I had been.  Not sure that I'll make it a yearly thing, but it was nice to get the kids out to something "fun" and out of the norm.  I put "fun" in quotations because Hadleigh didn't think it was all that fun for most of the time we were there.

We've been dealing with some anxiety/separation anxiety with her, so she was immediately whining and clinging.  So bad that she started shaking, my poor baby.  First it was because she wanted to be in the stroller instead of Hayden. (Reason why we now have a double stroller!)  Then she liked the animals from afar, but did NOT like the animals if I even looked like I was going to walk towards them.  I also think the random strangers out there weren't her cup of tea.

I was able to snap a few pictures.  Erik and Jaxson had fun.  Erik and I held some baby chicks that were really cute.  Erik really enjoyed milking the fake cow.  Both boys loved all the tractors and lawn mowers they got to sit on.

After a couple of hours, we decided to take the kids to Chick-fil-a to get some lunch. Jaxson and Hayden hung out with Gramps and I while Erik & Hadleigh went to go play in the kids area.  Needless to say, both girls slept on the way home :)
