Mother's Day 2012 & cute puppy pictures

We had a busy Mother's day this year!  It was a gorgeous day filled with lots of food and spending time with family.  We started the day at Aunt JuJu's house for brunch with the entire Harris side of the family.  It's always nice getting together with them, and they just love seeing Hadleigh.  Daniel's uncle bought 2 puppies for his family a few days prior, so they were there too.  I got cute pictures of Hadleigh with one of the puppies - every time she saw them she would say "aww" - love.her. We ate, visited, played outside, played on the putt-putt green in the backyard, and Hadleigh rode around in the golf cart.  She's a little obsessed with the golf cart.

We had a little downtime to hang out just us three for a little while before we headed to Ashland to have dinner with my family.  Dinner was yummy although Erik and Hadleigh weren't too interested in eating.  They had a blast playing with each other.  Jaxson played a little too!  Hadleigh had reallly stinky feet from wearing shoes with no socks, and she had put them close to Erik's face, so Erik said "ewww stinky piggies!"  She thought that was the funniest thing!  They kept doing it over and over and Erik had Hadleigh laughing so hard her face was red.  She loves her cousins.  We had some dessert after dinner before leaving for the night which was really good, thanks to Ukrops! :)

I'd say my second Mother's Day was a hit!  Can't wait until next year when I get to celebrate it with TWO little girls <3

New Swing Set

Daniel, his dad, and my dad all helped put this badboy together.  Daniel and his dad worked on it one night, Daniel worked on it the next night alone, and then the following day my dad came over to help finish.  A lot of work but was well paid off when Hadleigh saw it! She was so excited - loves the slide and the swings.  She is wearing a dress-up skirt in these pictures I got for $2 - she likes wearing it and twirling around in it, but she's not too obsessed yet.

Small House Update

We have a little nook area in the hallway of our upstairs.  It's right by the kids bathroom where there's an access to a crawl space.  It looked really empty, so when Daniel and I were out running errands we found the perfect table at Hobby Lobby.  We've decorated it with pictures and accents we already had, but we will get around to updating it.  At least when Hayden comes, some pictures of her will go up to even out the kids pictures :)

Daniel's teaching Hadleigh the ways of OCD....

Yep...we have another cleaner in the house!  She loves sweeping, vacuuming, unloading the dishwasher, and loading the washing machine and dryer with clothes.  We let her help whenever she wants, although sometimes it turns into a meltdown when we take the broom or vacuum away to get the cleaning done.  We need to invest in a toy cleaning set - although I'm sure she will still want the real deal.

Kara's 3rd Birthday

Kara turned 3 on 4.27.12, so we went to her birthday party that weekend on 4.29.12  She had a cute Dora themed party where the kids got to play on her swing set and they even had a moon bounce!  Hadleigh immediately loved the swing set, but she was a little unsure about the moon bounce at first.  She warmed up to it by the end and was having a good time.  Jen did great on the food and cupcakes and Kara got lots of great presents from everyone!

Cousin Bathtime!

We had dinner at Kelli & Chey's late last month and at the end of the night, all the kids needed a bath. What better way to hang out with cousins than bath time together?! Everything went smoothly until Erik & Jaxson started play screaming in the tub - Hadleigh didn't enjoy that too much and freaked out.  So we had to rush on the washing to get her out quickly.  She LOVES bath time at home, but is very particular.  She hates baths anywhere else, weird.

Who Needs Rest?

I do apparently.  On 4.19 my doctor told me I needed to be off my feet as much as I could from here on out.  The cramping and contracting wasn't getting any better after taking the antibiotics for the bladder infection.  Which hints that none of the cramping was due to that, SO rest it is.  We aren't talking strict bed rest.  Right now I'm working from home Monday - Friday, where I am sitting/laying while doing work.  I can still do things, just modified and/or resting right afterwards so I'm not stressing my body too much.  So far things have been going well.  I still have cramps and/or contractions and I can definitely tell if I've overdone it in some way.  I'm already getting antsy as I'm in the house all the time.  I'm grateful that Hayden is doing great and moving all the time, that I'm still able to work from home, and that I get to see Hadleigh more throughout the day. Crossing my fingers now, things stay about the same so I'm not put on strict bed-rest or bed-rest in the hospital.  13 more weeks to go (that is, if I went to a full 40 weeks)!

Update as of 5.16
I've had a few doctor's appointments since I first started this post (it's been sitting in draft, oops!).  Everything is still looking good. I had another bladder infection, so I've been on another round of antibiotics. Hayden is doing wonderful - she's long and skinny and already weighs over 3 pounds, which by the way is more than what my update e-mails from baby center tell me babies are at this point!  I received an ultrasound last week just to check on her and my cervix - which is still long and closed - exactly what they want to see.  We got some good 3D pictures of Hayden - Her face isn't as round as Hadleigh's, it's more long. BUT she does look like she has her nose and lips.  I can see Hadleigh and myself in the ultrasound pictures, so we shall see!  The last couple of doctors appointments her heart rate has been 151 give or take a few beats.

10 weeks to go unless Hayden decides to make her appearance sometime before!
